Looks like all the Bucs board gurus were wrong again. I guess the mock drafts weren't kidding when they had Mike Williams falling to 7th. Welcome aboard Carnell.

I based it upon need and depth. Don't get me wrong, I think it was a pretty good pick. The diference is like getting an A or an A- IMO
excellent pick either way. But I was hoping Edwards would fall to us. I like Caddy, I liked his interview after the pick, and I liked the way Gruden talked about him.
Looks great to me.
I still think WR was a greater need, however.

Carnell had 2 injuries when he was a 17 and 18 year old kid playing in the toughest college conference in the nation at the time. He is fully healed up and there should be no worries about his college injuries hindering him on the field.

Ya, I wasn't too fond of him at all. He was really over -hyped and has not played a down of football in over a year, who says he is ready for impact. Also he had problems running routes and can be easily covered by a corner in this league because of his lack of speed and precesion. He would need to be on the weak side of a fast dominate WR, like he is in Detroit.
I am happy with our pick, although I was hoping for Ronnie Brown. Now we need some defensive players or OL.

I don't think we will trade up for Rodgers. But I wouldn't mind getting McPherson in the 3rd. But with the 2nd rounder, it's gotta be OL or WR. I would prefer WR, we have OL, but really only 1 1/2 WR. (Galloway is a half b/c he only plays half the season)

I don't think the Bucs were ever considering Rodgers, but they did consider Smith. I hope we don't take him at all. He had a career off of a good game against USC. Texas Tech is not a top flight team. I'm just saying Rodgers rep is based solely on one game. I saw him live at the Holiday Bowl but on TV often since I live in California. Rodgers is not the great QB during games that he appears to be in practice situations.

Yeah but Benson had mulitple good games. Rodgers had one. That's it one good game that happened to be against USC. Plus he's a system guy. You can have a RB that maybe has some bad games, but the QB has to be on all the time. He handles the ball evey play.

I feel sorry for Rodgers. No matter what he does it will never be good enough for them since he is replacing a legond. Arguebly the best QB of all time.
You never want to be the guy who replaces a legend.
You want to be the guy- who replaced the guy who replaced a legend.
