you will not be able to download Gamecube games off the internet because it's to recent. but you will be able to download all of Nintendo's N64 games, Super Nes Games and Nes Games onto the Revolution and save them onto the console. You can buy enhanced memory which you attach to the Revolution so you can save more games onto it.
Nintendo will be doing certain promotions, like the stars catalogue, get so many stars and you can download a game. You will not be able to share games you downloaded with other revolution users because of a security system which is installed.
The security system exists out of nine numbers, your revolution's number will have to match the downloaded game's number. So whenever you download a game off the net, lets say your revolution number is 099.366.221 if the game you downloaded doesn't match that number, you will only have a two week trial, once those two weeks are up, then you either have the choice to delete it or purchase the game yourself.
You will be able to trade the game, but your friend, because his revolution number is different, will only be able to play it for two weeks. This only applies to the downloaded games. If lets say your revolution gets damaged and you buy a new one, your new revolution will have a new code and to be able to play all the downloaded games on your new revolution, you must contact Nintendo and they assure us that they will answer you back in two weeks and change your codes over.
This security system only applies to the downloaded games, so when you buy a revolution game, you will be able to play that game on any system.
you will be able to hook up your ds to the revolution and get online using your revolution connection, whether or not this connection will be made by a cable or wireless has not yet been decided, but personally i imagine it will be wireless.
when you buy a revolution, in your package, you will have the console, all the cables and 1 controller, you will also be getting the original Mario Bros from the Nes days, Mario World from the Super Nes and Paper Mario from the N64.
Other companies will be able to join up, so you will be able to download games that weren't made by nintendo, capcom have already signed up and many more will be signing up in the future.
and once the revolution has been released, at special events like the E3, Spaceworld etc etc, nintendo will allow people to download demo copies of the games. again there will be a time limit on these games, but you will be able to download them onto the revolution and you will also be able to download ds games onto the revolution and then upload them onto the ds and as long as your ds is connected to the revolution, you can play the demos to your hearts content. Nintendo are very positive about this idea because it will allow people in a way to attend the E3 show and actually play the game demos.

Very interesting. I like the Idea of earning the free downloads through tournaments. Its not official yet but hoping this all pans out.
