Well MJW, normally I agree with you, but I am going to have to pass on Bama being the best team. They should've been beaten by my Volunteers yesterday 19-12, but because Tennessee has a suck-*** kicker, they lost.

I really don't know who I would cast my vote for currently. It's truly up in the air at the moment.

Well, yesterday didn't help 'Bama's case much. But Florida didn't do a whole lot to help their cause either. I'm not sure there IS a true #1 team right now. But IMHO, I would take Alabama over all comers on a neutral field.

Yeah, I guess I agree with this statement. What do you thing of Cincinnati? They have won 2 games without there starting QB. Granted, there schedule might be suspect, but they are an interesting team.

Well, Oregon is Boise's best friend right now. If Oregon keeps winning (and I think they will beat USC next week), Boise's SOS keeps climbing. That's why Boise right now is #4.

Going to be interesting if it does come down to the Boise, Cincy, Iowa and TCU, how the pollsters handle that. It's not all that farfetched that it will as all those teams have already played the meat of their schedule. I think Cincinnati has one potential stumbling block left and that's it.

oh, I was just meaning that the BCS bias on this board is ridiculous, but hey, you can't fix stupid.

they will have 2 chances on a neutral field possibly to prove that. im happy with the top 3 right now right where they are.

That about covers it.

There's not much joy to be had on Sundays, and my Bulls are right on schedule for their annual bye month.. gotta talk about something that isn't depressing!

LSU is going to give Bama a run for their money. I like the Tigers in this game. 11/07, big game!

only thing that scares me about this game, because i like what lsu has done of late. the bye week. its really a major factor in florida's win over lsu. alabama obviously needed a week off after the showing against tennessee. im worried it will be a factor again. rooting for lsu because i'd rather play lsu again than alabama. but it wont happen

Damn right about that, but I worry about Ga and SC first, especially SC. For some reason that game scares me.

Something I've noticed lately....fans of top teams hoping to play lesser teams, or hoping teams near them in the rankings lose. When my team was ranked, I always wanted the opponents to as close to undefeated and as highly ranked as possible, that way there would be no qquestion as to who the most dominant team was.

In order to be the best, you should play and beat the best.

Agreed.

And for the record...... I wanna see either TCU this year.... or Boise State this year or next get into the BCS Championship game. Why?

The second one of them does..... then you'll hear the SEC schools, Big Ten, Big XII, and Pac-10 whining and complaining about not being there...... and then they'll be the ones asking for a playoff. Starting to think that's the only way it'll happen. When a MWC or WAC team gets in.

And Boise State.... if they run the table (good shot) and win their bowl game (????).... they go into 2010 returning 19 or 20 starters..... and have a schedule that will include Oregon State at home and at Virginia Tech. They run that schedule, starting where they're gonna start the year...... they have a shot. At that point, they'd be on a 27 game win streak. How do they get denied then?

Could you imagine the uproar if Boise State played Iowa or Cincinnati this year in Rose Bowl #2?

I hope to god it happens...

I am all for it. People, with SEC hats, would be screaming bloody murder for a playoff. And they'd be playing right into the Big East, WAC and MWC's hands.

I'd love to see Oregon beat USC, Florida get beat by the other USC and FSU or Georgia..... Alabama get beat by Florida....... Texas lose to OSU.....

It'd be a BCS nightmare...... and my wet dream.

Just too bad the SEC refs are hell bent on making sure none of that happens.

Tennessee? Stack the box with everyone but Johnny Majors and forced McElroy to beat them and he couldn't. His team won the game and what is what matters the most. He didn't have a very good game against a pretty decent defense. But a better team than Tennessee appears to have a shot of knocking Bama off. Right now, Florida's defense is slightly better than Bama's. Florida is the best team right now.

How bout a little update? Isn't it nice to see the Gators getting it going again?

Still think Bama is #1?

Nice to see the O picking back up....hopefully that will carry through the rest of the season. I just read Urban suspended Spikes for the 1st half of the Vandy game for the eye-gouging retaliation with Georgia. I'm sure the Gator haters will be calling for his head on here any second now.

Exactly why a playoff is needed. Its easy to be undefeated when the only decent(?) team you play all year is BYU...Let the top teams fight it out at the end. I'm all for giving the TCU's and Boise State's their shot.

Clemson, Utah, BYU is overrated anyway.

LSU is the only team Florida has played better than any of those three as well...Texas schedule is a joke...Penn State has a loss and played one of the weakest schedules to date...point being, who you play doesn't determine how good you are.

Rose Bowl will be B10 vs P10...unless one of them is in the title game..

which means Iowa vs Oregon.

TCU will likely be playing Florida or Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

Oregon would smash Iowa IMO...unless Iowa got the same refs they did against Indiana.

No 14 Ranked Utah will beat TCU in Texas, and shock the world and regain their spot in the top 10. Then Beat BYU on the road and become top 5. Their only loss this year is to Oregon. A lot of people seem to forget that.

It'd be nice of them to make that TCU-Utah a nationally televised game on ABC, the 8pm game. But the bias against the smaller conferences will rear its ugly head and it'll be on Versus or some small network half the country doesn't get.

Unfortunately, Texas has a cake walk the rest of the season, so the Nat'l Championship is pretty much already set in stone two months out. Florida-Alabama winner vs. Texas. Only hope is that Texas A&M somehow finds a way to upset Texas at home. That's the only hope of chaos erupting in college football.

Utah is living off last year...TCU will beat them by 3 TD's...mark that down.
