Ahmad Brooks Kicked Off Team

I can't post the article because this is members only content and sadly... I am not a member. According to the small part of the article that is shown, Ahmad Brooks was dismissed from the University of Virginia for an undisclosed off-the-field transgression. He was projected to be a top 10 pick before his injury and is now trying to appeal to a court to get into the NFL Draft. If not, he'll have to settle for the Supplemental Draft.

Career mistake, much like Marcus Vick both players could now be out of the NFL and in the CFL. I wish Brooks like but I dont think the NFL is going to allow him to enter the draft.

CFL? Vick... possibly. Brooks... less possibly. Well that all depends on how serious his transgression was. He'll either enter the Supplemental or go D1-AA.

First round, if anyone is willing to spend a first rounder on Brooks. I'm not really sure of his situation.

Jeez, that might be a huge mistake. If he can get in the real draft and get back in shape, he's a mid-late 1st guy. If not, this could be the start of a bad snowball effect.

No way, he'd be lucky to be a 2nd rounder depending on how serious his transgression was, also considering his nagging injuries and being waaaay outta shape at nearly 280 lbs. Anyways, Thomas Howard will almost definately be there for the Hawks' pick, he's more of a second rounder, but Seattle tends to draft unconventially anyway, ie. Tatupu.

Jeff White, of the Times-Dispatch, reports University of Virginia officials said Friday, Feb. 17, that star LB Ahmad Brooks is still on the school's football team. A report had been published by a web site devoted to University of Virginia sports that Brooks has been dismissed from the team and would try to play in the NFL this season. In an email to the Times-Dispatch, Virginia athletic director Craig Littlepage said, "Ahmad's eligibility to participate has not changed." However, a source close to the football program expressed surprise that head coach Al Groh had said Brooks was still on the team.

Doubt he gets into the regular draft, will probaably go to supplemental. He needs the extra time because he gained about 25 pounds. Unless he wants to play defensive end, he's gonna have to get in shape.

Heh.....he says "Final word" in the title. And then in the post he says he talked to some beat writers and it "looks like" Brooks is done at UVA.

Doesn't sound too "final" to me.
