Doubt he beats him out on skill, but if Daunte isn't ready then Harrington will be given the chance, may be his last opportunity befor becoming a career backup, better make it worth it!

Yep, it looks like the deal is done.
I dont really know what to think. I mean, I'm not really intrigued by him... but then again, he is pretty much the best of whats left... and we are giving up garbage for him...

After working out a two-year agreement with the Dolphins more than a week ago, Harrington asked Millen to release him or make a trade with the Dolphins so he can move on with his career.
"I look forward to joining the Miami Dolphins whenever I am released or a trade is completed," Harrington said Wednesday in a statement issued by his agent, David Dunn. "The Dolphins are an ascending team with great coaching and I can't wait to get started. I certainly appreciate all that the Ford family and Matt Millen did for me. "I learned so much in Detroit and I will always value those relationships and that experience. At the same time, I am eager to get to work with my new team, whether that happens in a day, a week or a month," he said. The Dolphins are offering a sixth-round choice in 2007. The Lions have been asking for a third- or fourth-round choice in this year's draft. Now it's up to Millen to make a concession in his demands or hold up any move until June 15 when Harrington is due the roster bonus. |

This willl be a good move for Harrington. I think that this will happen because Millen doesn't want to pay that bonus money.

1. Let him got via release and get nothing in return 2. Let him go via trade to MIA and get a draft pick out of it atleast Either way it will happen before he is due his roster bonus |

When Culpepper is healthy i see him as the starter...Harrington is better than his play in Det shows but IMO he isnt better than Culpepper and when Culpepper is healthy he will be the general on the field

Here's an up date, looks like a sixth:
Lions | Trade for Harrington to be finalized before the NFL Draft? Thu, 20 Apr 2006 06:24:29 -0700 Jeff Darlington, of the Palm Beach Post, reports the Miami Dolphins have offered the Detroit Lions a sixth-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft in exchange for QB Joey Harrington. As noted previously, a source said the Lions are prepared to accept the offer. The trade could be completed before next week's NFL Draft. ____________________ ^mtn^ |

As bad as the QB's in Miami have been the last few years, Harrington will be the worst. I mean DET drafted a WR with their first rounder 3 years in a row to try to help the kid out he still couldn't get anything done.

Rogers has been anything but reliable and Mike Williams really didnt do what people expected from him. Hew had poor work ethic and when the running game doesnt work well it hurts the passing game. Garcia couldnt do much with that offense either so it wasnt just Harringtons fault. |

^mtn^ _______________- Found the link, looks like he's taking the high road: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/dolphin...gton_0420.html Dolphins near deal for Harrington By Jeff Darlington Palm Beach Post Staff Writer Thursday, April 20, 2006 Joey Harrington didn't wait for a trade to become final before making it clear Wednesday that he plans to spend his future with the Dolphins. Harrington, Detroit's starting quarterback for most of the past four seasons, said he has every intention of playing in Miami, a role that could make him the starter when the season opens in September. The Lions decided not to retain Harrington but still control his rights, which has led the team to seek a trade from several suitors. The Dolphins are offering a sixth-round pick in 2007, a source said. Another source close to Harrington said the Lions are expected to accept the offer, with the deal becoming final before next week's draft. "I look forward to joining the Miami Dolphins whenever I am released or a trade is completed," Harrington said in a statement released Wednesday night. "The Dolphins are an ascending team with great coaching, and I can't wait to get started." Harrington, who was given permission to shop himself for a trade, also told the Lions on Wednesday of his desire to play for the Dolphins. Harrington, the Lions' first-round draft choice in 2002, fell out of favor in Detroit after struggling as the starter for four seasons. In his time in Detroit, he started 55 games, throwing 60 touchdown passes and 62 interceptions. He completed 54.7 percent of his passes for 10,242 yards. His average quarterback rating was 68.1, considered low for a starter. If the deal is completed, Harrington would be the team's second quarterback behind Daunte Culpepper, who was acquired from Minnesota last month. Harrington would be in line to start the season opener Sept. 7 at Pittsburgh if Culpepper is still rehabilitating his surgically repaired knee. Initially, the Lions had sought a fourth-round draft choice for Harrington, the first source said. But because Harrington is owed a $4 million bonus in June, the Lions appear willing to accept a lower-round selection for him to free themselves of having to pay it. Whoever trades for Harrington also is expected to renegotiate his contract to avoid paying the bonus. Detroit has already signed free-agent quarterbacks Jon Kitna and Josh McCown to replace Harrington. The decision to complete the trade rests solely with Lions President Matt Millen. Both the Dolphins and the Lions declined to comment Wednesday. "I learned so much in Detroit and I will always value those relationships and that experience," Harrington said in his statement. "At the same time, I am eager to get to work with my new team, whether that happens in a day, a week or a month." The Cincinnati Bengals and the Denver Broncos had also expressed interest in dealing for Harrington, but Harrington canceled a visit with the Broncos this week. He visited the Bengals in March, shortly after first meeting with Dolphins officials, but no deal was reached. The Harrington trade would be the first that Dolphins coach Nick Saban has made involving a 2007 draft choice. The team has also given up its second-, fifth- and sixth-round picks in this year's draft, which is April 29-30, despite Saban's oft-stated preference for building the team through the draft. |

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports there is a chance that former Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper's rebuilt knee could keep him out the entire regular season with the Miami Dolphins. -- St. Paul Pioneer Press Last edited by BigPoppa3; 04-20-2006 at 02:03 PM.. |

Ya he got the triple *****.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports Daunte Culpepper is uncertain when he'll be able to return to action next season. He tore three of the four major ligaments in his right knee last October but hopes to be fine for Week 1. "That's my personal goal, but I still have a good picture of the whole thing, and I'm real good with reality here, and I know that an injury like this is tough to come back from that quick." |
