Lets see how the new "red storm" d compares

ok atlanta fans, since i am still hearing about how much this new d is gonna dominate, lets see how it compares with the rest of the nfc south

note that this is purely based on last years stats and not how much heart someone has or how hard they can hit which also are important

scoring will be as followed..1st place 5 points..2nd 4..3rd 3..4th 2

the position won't count if more than 1 team had a first day pick to replace the position

Best D-end:
TB;Simeon Rice-40 tackles, 14 sacks, 1 int, 6 forced fumbles
ATL;Jon Abraham-58 tackles, 10.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles
CA;Julius Peppers-50 tackles, 10.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles
NO;Will Smith-60 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles

Other D-end:
CA;Mick Rucker-44 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles
TB;Greg Spires-47 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble
NO;Charles Grant-62 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble
ATL;Brady Smith-8 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble

Left Defensive Tackle:
ATL;Rod Coleman-40 Tackles, 10.5 sacks
NO;Brian young-52 tackles
TB;Chris Hovan-45 tackles
CA;Brentson Buckner-36 tackles, 1 sack

Right Defensive Tackle:
CA;Jordan Cartstens-35 tackles, 4 sacks
NO;Willie Whitehead-35 tackles, .5 sacks

Left OLB:
TB;Derrick Brooks-125 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 int
CA;Keith Adams- 69 tackles
ATL;Micheal Boley-63 tackles
NO; Terrence Melton-28 tackles

Middle LB
ATL;Keith Brooking-115, 3.5 sacks, 4 ints
TB;Shelton Quarles-129 tackles, 1 sack
CA;Dan Morgan-78 tackles, 3 sacks
NO;Ronald Mckinnon-78 tackles

Right OLB
ATL;Demorrio Williams-127 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 ints
TB;Ryan Nece-76 tackles, 2 sacks
NO;Coby Bockwoldt-89 tackles
CA;2006 draft pick-3rd rd, Unproven

Best CornerBack
TB; Ronde Barber-99 tackles, 2 sacks, 5 ints
CA; Chris Gamble-75 tackles, 7 ints
NO;Fred Thomas-80 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 ints
ATL; Deangelo Hall-65 tackles, 6 ints

Other Corner Back
CA;Ken Lucas-69 tackles, 6 ints
TB;Brian Kelly-50 tackles, 1 sack, 4 ints
NO;Jason Craft-37 tackles, 1 sack, 3 ints
ATL;2006 draft pick-2nd rd, Unproven

Free Safety
ATL;Lawyer Milloy-106 tackles, 1 sack, 1 int
NO;Dwight Smith- 72, 1 sack, 2 ints
CA;Mike Minter-62 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 int
TB;Will Allen-50 tackles, 3 ints

Strong Safety
NO;Josh Bullocks-67 tackles, 1 int
TB;Jermaine Phillips-65 tackles
ATL;Keion Carpenter-55 tackles, 2 ints
CA;Thomas Davis-38 tackles, 1.5 sacks

Tampa Bay-44 points
Carolina-38 points
Atlanta-37 points
New Orleans-35

so according to this atlanta has the 3rd best d in the division as of now..and yes its true that its last years stats and nobody can say anything until next year, but its not like atlanta will be better, theres a chance they could do worse than the stats show

so don't get to hyped up on this d yet atlanta fans, because you guys arent even that good on paper, let alone the field

Even though I agree that ATL is the 3rd defense in our division one thing you forgot in this is team play, you can't always just go buy all the best players and throw them together (the Redskins proved that a few years ago when they had Deion and company) they need to gel together like a line does. Sorry ATL fans but you can't say how these guys will play with the others on the team in in your system.

Yeah, these opinions are a little biased...

This is more like it-

Carolina Defense>Buccaneers Defense>Atlanta Defense>New Orlean Defense

Youre joking right??? We're not being biased, the Buccaneers were the number one D in the league last year.

As far as next year this division is gonna be crazy competitive. Can it be August yet!!!!

Do you understand the fact that we have 10 out of 11 starters returning from that number one ranked defense from a year ago? Kiffin is still here. Even if age does play a factor in the defense and the loss of two coaches does also, people should still give the Bucs the benefit of a doubt that they can overcome little things like that, as they have in the past.

Start making some sense instead of trying to **** off people. You should be on here to voice an opinion, not to try and stir up things, Smith_HitTer. . .

I dunno. The Panthers lost both starting OLBs, which is going to hurt your defense a ton. Thomas Davis is penciled in as the starter at SS. Last season, he was benched after two games. I don't know if the Panthers are going to be as good as they were last season, which would definately make the Bucs better than them.

The only guy we chaning in the D is Will Allen, who interestingly had the most INTs last season of the starting Free Safteys, even though he only started 8 games.

"redstorm d"???

Dood, you do know that the Redstorm is actually taken by a college team (St. John's)????

How about something more orginal when naming the D'...I've always like the Bayside Marauders.
