Jamie Winborn -- PLUS

If Winborn is physically ready, I think that he will turn a lot of heads in the Bucs TC. Speed is definitely an asset for Winborn. In high school he competed in the 100 yard dash and the 4x100 relay. Might be crazy to say this, but we might see this guy playing nickel on occasion. Just a thought. Has to stay healthy, but Jamie will be around some really talented people, great linebacking corps, that will make this guy put it all out there. No guarantees for anyone in the "Real Tampa Two." This is not San Fran, this is MF's territory (Monty Kiffin, not the other words) and this guy will make a big impression here. Winborn definitely has speed, guaranteed to hit, he will make a difference on this team. I think that this was SF's loss and our (Buccaneers) gain. Go Bucs!

Think it will depend on whether or not he can go a complete season without serious injuries. He is a great athlete , but has been plagued by injuries since he came into the league in 2001. He was on IR in 2003 and 2005.

Know what King, don't think that Kiffin forgot, believe that is probably why Jamie is here. This man understands how to stay in the top 10 defenses. I believe that JW is here because of Monty Kiffin. (My Guess) Worked on the off/line in the draft, but truly believe that Kiffin wanted this guy. Also believe that JG meant what he said . . . . you run the defense and let me have the offense. This guy is 5' 11" and some where around 230, he will knock your "stuff" in the dirt. Don't totally agree with the minimal additions that you mentioned, but that can be talked about in another thread. Glad that you agree that dude "might" help. I bet that you played the game. Go Bucs!

Playing in the nickel? You're serious? That means 1 of 3 things.

1. He replaces Derrick Brooks. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that doesn't happen.

2. He replaces Shelton Quarles. Had a career season at what? 33? He's pencilled in there.

3. He replaces Juran Bolden. Someone who did not get enough credit last year. Played solid in his first year. Also means that Jamie Winborn has to cover outside #1 WRs. Not going to happen.

1. Won't replace Derrick Brooks. I am out there on that limb with you.

2. Agree that Shelton is penciled in there. He earned that last year. However, every year all of these players start over, if there is competition at the position.

3. Did not say that he "would" replace anybody. Would like to see Juran and Jamie run the 100 and see what happens. Know this, both of these guys will "hit" you.

Say it again, like the fact that he is a Buc. Lots of folks have been "banged up" in the NFL, part of the game. I know that Jamie was a high draft choice coming out of college, so I am figuring that someone else in the NFL thought that he had what was needed to hang out in this league. Still think that MK had something to do with Winborn coming to Tampa Bay.

I did italicize playing the nickel. Some folks use the "blue."

Go Bucs!

buc4evr, agree with your statement. Guess this is somewhat like Boston coming in here as a great athlete at one time. I like both Boston and Winborn, and what could be better than "both" of these guys making this team and "producing." When the season is over and we look back, all of us will know more then. Know this, they would not be here if MK, JG and BA did not want them here. Go Bucs!

If our Defense is "Aging" then Monte could take a page from the Memphis Grizzles and Rotate players so that they don't tire out. Imagine a linebacking core that's always Fresh!!! Just a thought. MR. DERRICK BROOKS IS BAD TO THE BONE AS WELL AS SHELTON, BUT IT's A TEAM THING
