Saints look smart now dealing away Stallworth

Colston is a 7th round, 3rd to last pick out of small Hofstra College and now starting big-time for the Saints.

Saints get rid of the injury-prone, semi-cancerous, butter-finger Donte Stallworth and get a good middle line backer Simoneau in return (good defense as seen last night) with a 3rd round conditional pick, plus they don't have to honor that huge contract.

I never liked Stallworthless because he was inconsistent and he was 1st round pick. While many were upset when we traded the fool for nothing, I would have been happy to get a venereal disease in return........

In all actuality Colston didn't look that good, the game was thrown after all...........What a find by the Saints, the kids going to be a good one.

Not so fast. Wait until they get to the meat of their schedule...It's not as brutal as ours but it's damn close.

just kinda pointing out Donte Stallworth is the only WR in the NFL to average 100+ YPG so far, granted he's only played in 2 games, he's got 4 less catches, more yards still, and just as many TDs

I think both teams did well.

McNabb has 18 pass completions for over 20 yards in three games. Most top Qbs average 40-50 a year.

Stallworth averages over 100 yards a game and has caught a TD in each game he played.

I still think we were fools for trading him. This was certainly going to be his breakout season.

Actually, I hated the move for the Eagles at first. But I will live up to being wrong and say the Eagles made a great move, Stallworth is actually a really good WR.

For a 1st rounder and big cost, he sure did drop a lot of balls.....a lot of balls!

We weren't winning with him either, 3-13 last year.

Glad he's gone!

I think Stallworth was just unhappy in New Orleans, and tanked just to get traded. Now that he's with a team it seems he wants to play for, he's doing really well.

Win Win situation for saints and eagles. Donte is doing well with the eagles and the saints upgraded their D and got a 3rd round.

Donte must have the tightest hammies of any WR to ever play the game. Every time hes injured it seems to be hamstrings.

I remember reading an article about his hammies and something about issac bruce told him to go see some dr that gave him special stretching excercies to do and because of the way his body is with the muscles so tight he could basically pull something just thinking about it...I heard he has to start stretching like 20 minutes before everybody else...

I really like stallworth but his problem is he can make a 60 yard touchdown catch and then drop a crucial 3rd down pass which ends up costing the team...

Colston looks like the real deal...he is quiet goes about his business and doesnt want any attention...not the typical wr...he has a chance to be something special with his size and speed

Eagles did far better without a doubt.

And Stallworth ****ed me off last week. He was listed as probable, so I started him! He could've had over 150 yards IMO vs the 49ers.

I Thought It was a Even Split, However Saints IMO got the better half of that so far.. stallworth needs to play against a real team before everyone cast they're vote on which team got the better part..

So far saints win because we have no injuries :-)

You guys must be crazy. Has anyone even seen Mark Simoneau play? He's an expensive special teams player. We're cold as hell. You got Atlanta throwing games for NO while we're stealing their players left and right. We snatched Howard and Stallworth for practically nothing and they're now our best receiver and dlinemen (with Kearse gone). I don't know what the deal is with Stallworth's hamstrings but he's been a joy since the day he got here...

"Woo! I look good in green!"

It's a win-win situation, with the Saints getting 1 1/2 of those 2 wins, in my opinion.

Stallworth is actually in a better offense with Philly, as he's suited more for the long ball. McNabb throws the long ball well and has more of a vertical style passing attack, while Brees and the Saints are all about the short to medium range passing attack. Stallworth can stretch the field, as he's got speed, but not so much in the crisp route running department. Take a look at his touchdowns this year, and most of his yardage. The come from vertical routes. He also tends to drop A LOT of catchable balls, especially those comeback and crossing routes. He's better suited for Philidelphia.

Now, Philly has gotten the FULL Stallworth, we as Saints fans, have come to know and accept. He'll show flashes of amazing ability (first game,) then he'll have some critical drops (second game,) and then he'll tweak the hammy and be out for a few weeks. This is why the staff got rid of him. He couldn't put it together week after week, much like Brooks and many of the others we no longer call Saints.

We got a back-up linebacker who is now a starter on the 5th best D in the league, in Mark Simoneau. Also in that trade, we got a 4th round pick that will become a 3rd if the Eagles sign Stallworth longterm.

If Stallworth can stay healthy, and I hope he does, then it really is a win-win for both teams. Right now though, with Stallworth sidelined, my team (showing bias, obviously. lol) gets the nod.

Here's to hoping the Eagles sign Stallworth longterm.

5th ranked D in the league, while 2nd in the NFC by less that 1 yard. .7 yard difference to be exact.

D. Howard has 6 tackles (seriously?) and 1 sack. Hardly anything worthy bragging about. One of our Defensive tackles had 3 times as many sacks as Howard in ONE GAME.

As for Stallworth, got a hammy injury, three games in. That's been a pattern with him for as long as we can remember.

Oh yeah, I won't even play with you on the "rigged" game. I've been doing that with bitter Falcons fans for TWO days, so arguing the same tired smack talk gets old and lame. Come with something new and fresh next time.

The Saints made 2 trades with Philly this season.

They traded Stallworth and a 4th for a starting DT, a starting RG, a starting LB, and a 4th or potential 3rd round pick.

I'll take 3 productive starters and a pick over 1 brick handed hamstring-prone WR any day.

I just have to point out that we have the same exact schedule except for 2 games. We both go to the exact same places just at different times of the year. The only 2 games that are different are the games against the NFC North and West. We get S.F. and G.B. cause they were both last in the divisions you play the first place teams get your facts straight first.
