Michael Lewis actually thinks the Eagles won!

“I’m proud to have him as our leader,” safety Michael Lewis said. “My hat goes off to him. The things he was going through out there, he threw up out there and he came back and willed this team to a victory. It was an unbelievable finish.”Ahhh, the score was in favor of the Bucs!!!

I suspect Lewis considers it the defense's fault for not keeping us out of FG range... McNabb put them in a position to win the game.

McNabb's 3 picks (two for opposing TDs), and inability to get his team in the endzone for the entire 1st half were a insignificant detail.

This brings to mind Mike D'Antoni's press conference after Kobe beat the Suns with that buzzer beater in game 4. But at least he corrected himself immediately.

Michael Lewis is a genius.

Your taking this out of context. What Lewis means, is after being down, McNabb got the team ahead (willed this team to a victory). McNabb had nothing to do with the last 30+ seconds. The last time he was on the field, the eagles had the lead.

Mark this down as another one of those idiotic things players say after a loss....right along with Aaron Brooks' "I owned them with my eyes." after getting creamed by the Seahawks.

Maybe he should a worded a bit differently if he doesn't
want to be looking silly with the comment.

unless McNabb is part of the PAT unit, the last time he was on the field, the eagles were tied.

He led the Eagles to victory about as much as I did. And I think I did better because I didn't throw 3 picks.

how so? we were up 20-14 and Westbrook's TD makes it 20-20. add the PAT and then its 21-20. like i said, unless McNabb is part of the PAT unit, the game was tied when he walked off the field.

Wow. I googled it and it still sounds better when read as ambiguously gay rather than what he really meant.

I had to think about that at first. Then at the last second I realized...DUH! The PAT put them in the lead.

HELLO!!!!????? A victory means a win! He "willed" his team to a big fat loss, at the foot of our kicker, and the hands of Ronde Barber.
