Nfl Mvp?
Who do you think its going to be?
While we've come to expect it, Peyton is putting up another MVP like season. After yesterday's incredible game where he went 32/39 for 345 yards and 3 TD with 0 interceptions, he has only bolstered his chances. He still has the highest passer rating in the NFL, with 15 TD and only 2 INTs. He's on pace to throw for over 30 TDs with only 5 ints. And he's second in the NFL in yards, and it doesn't hurt that his team is undefeated while having a lousy defense which includes the worst ranked run defense in the NFL (way to help them out Booger!). It seems to be that Peyton is the frontrunner for NFL MVP. But what about Barber? No, not Ronde, Tiki. Leading the NFL in rushing with 715 yards, he has definetely taken the pressure off of a still young and inconsistent Eli Manning. He may not have any TDs, but that's just because Brandon Jacobs has been getting his goal line carries. He's definetely the MVP of the Giants, and could be in the running for NFL MVP. And you know the fact that he's retiring will effect things, right or wrong. Tomlinson has to be included in the discussion as well. After yesterday's monster game, you can't overlook LT. With 9 rushing TDs, 2 receiving, and 1 passing, its apparent that LT is a vital part of the Chargers offense. He has scored 1/3 of all of the Chargers points this season. Also with 656 yards rushing and 303 receiving, and he's showing that he's just as dangerous on the run or in the air. This is nothing new from Tomlinson, but it still puts him in the MVP race. And it is safe to say that the threat of Tomlinson takes a lot of pressure off of new starter Rivers, giving him the chance to play as well as he's been doing. Don't forget Steve Smith. He's doing it again, with the Panthers being 0-2 without him and 4-2 with him. He missed the first 2 games of the season and is still 3rd in the NFL in receiving yards. Its very clear that without Smith, the Carolina offense is nothing to fear. So what about you guys? Who do you think is the NFL MVP frontrunner? And please list your reasons for picking the person you think it is. Last edited by #1BucsDefense; 11-28-2006 at 05:10 PM.. Reason: McNabb isn't a candidate for MVP anymore |

Here's someone to think of...
Brian Urlacher if they go 15-1 or something, i would say Urlacher is the MVP |

in the history of the NFL MVP, only defensive players have won the award, Lawrence Taylor being the last also, 1 kicker has won the award, so its highly unlikely |

Come on guys, give some reasons for the people you think will be MVP. I'm not trying to make a poll here, I want to get some discussions going.

It's going to be co-MVP.
Manning is obvious LT is on pace for 2200 total yards and 26 TDs. |

Some great performances by some MVP candidates yesterday. Manning did great going 20/36 with 326 yards and 2 TD with only 1 INT against his longtime foe.
Meanwhile Tomlinson rushes for 172 yards with 3 TDs. If I had to choose, I'd say Manning right now by a little bit if no other reason than the fact that his team is undefeated. But Tomlinson is gaining ground on him fast with a bunch of great games lately. LT is now 2nd in the league in rushing, just 2 yards behind Tiki, but LT has 14 TDs and more receiving yards. Should be an interesting rest of the season. |

After 8 games, there is only one unbeaten team.
The Qb Peyton Manning is the reason, and he will be the mvp this year. Unless LT gets 29 TDs, then it will be close. |

it would be hard not to say peyton after he took care of the patriots last night when so many picked the pats to upset them.
and about last night who would have thought the colts would get four ints on Brady?!? |

Wow, Tomlinson has been tearing it up lately. While I'm still very impressed with what Peyton has been doing, I'm going to have to say that Tomlinson has taken the lead in the MVP race thanks to his recent games. Its been 2 games since I originally started this thread, and in those two games Tomlinson has had 276 rushing yards, 74 receiving yards, and 7 TDs. Without him, the Chargers aren't even in the playoff hunt, and with him they're superbowl contenders. For the season so far Tomlinson has 932 yards rushing, 377 yards receiving, and 18 TDs. He is just incredible, and if he keeps this up, I think he's got to get the MVP award.

I would have to go with Drew Brees, just look how he has turned the Saints around this season.
