Bengals | Team to change approach come draft day
Sat, 27 Jan 2007 08:56:23 -0800 Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals president Mike Brown said Friday, Jan. 26, the team will change its approach on draft day this year, likely opting for character over athleticism. "There may be some gifted athletes we won't pick that we might have picked a year ago," Brown said. Six of the team's 16 draft picks in the 2005 and 2006 classes have been arrested since 2006. gee mike, turns out guys with legal problems and character issues, aren't good players to draft

good outlook however...i could see that causing a small divide in the locker room...that statement could divide the last 2 yrs draft picks from the rest of the squad...primarily the 6 in question....quite the sad situation in Cinnci...

That's ridiculous. You're saying there is going to be animosity between players taken before 2005 and players taken in 2005 and 2006? That is just plain silly. The only animosity that MIGHT exist is between players that have been arrested or regularly engage in illegal activities and the players that are concerned with their image and doing the right thing. |
