Prisco grades top ten picks....

...Look at the grade for the Falcoons. I always thought this guy was an idiot. And he just confirmed my theory.




1. Oakland Raiders select: JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU They need a quarterback, but they took the wrong one. Brady Quinn should have been the choice. But at least they grabbed one. B

I think they had to take him

2. Detroit Lions select: Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech They could deal this pick to the Bucs, but give the Lions credit if they keep the pick. They got the best player in the draft. Admitting your mistakes is key in the NFL, and they did that by taking another receiver. A

Damn the Lions. I wanted this guy. But you dont always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need.


3. Cleveland Browns select: Joe Thomas, T, Wisconsin This is a good pick, but I would have taken Quinn. This is a team without a quarterback, and they need one. Thomas is a clean pick, but does having a tackle really make this team better for long run. B

a "B"? This guy is a stud at the most important position besides the QB.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson This makes sense for a team that has to win now. They would have loved to have landed Johnson, but they end up with a good pass-rushing defensive end. I preferred Jamaal Anderson, but this makes sense. B-

5. Arizona Cardinals select: Levi Brown, T, Penn State This is a need pick, but they should have taken Adrian Peterson. Brown's a good player, and will start right away, but Peterson is the next Eric Dickerson. C+

I do think this was a reach, but the Cards knew what they needed. They needed to protect Matt and pave lanes for James. He is the 2nd best LT. I think its a good pick, not a "C"


6. Washington Redskins select: LaRon Landry, S, LSU I don't like this pick. First, the pick should have been defensive end Jamaal Anderson. Second, I think Reggie Nelson will be a better NFL safety. Landry will be okay, but in-the-box safeties, which he is, struggle in the wide-open NFL these days. C-

A "C"?! Man this guy actually has a job at NFL.com?


7. Minnesota Vikings select: Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma I love this kid as a player. He will be special. But how do you pay Chester Taylor big money and look at the void at quarterback and not take Brady Quinn? Peterson will be a great player, but you can't win without a passer. B

Again, the Vikes pick up the reincarnation of E. Dikerson and he doesnt like it?

8. Atlanta Falcons select: Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas Grade
This was a great pick. He will be star. The Falcons lost Patrick Kerney and now they get a player who will be even better. I love this choice. A+




9. Miami Dolphins select: Ted Ginn Jr., WR, Ohio State Ginn's a good player, but how the heck can they pass on Quinn? That makes no sense. Who's their quarterback of the future? Cleo Lemon? D

10. Houston Texans select: Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville This is a need pick. They couldn't start Anthony Maddox again. He's only 19, so he has growth potential. This is a really good pick. B+

And did you hear ESPN trashing that pick? Saying this is a 19 year old going against 28-30 year old MEN. And how he wont make it in the NFL.

Pete Prisco.......................a complete Yutz. He's been sucking on McKay's butt ever since he left for Atlanta. McKay could've drafted Alan Branch with the 8th pick and he still would be fawning all over it. If Prisco says Anderson's a stud it means absiolutely nothing. He also said the Raiders should've taken Quinn. He lasted til the 22nd pick for a reason.

I can't wait until Adams gets his arms around Vick's scrawny neck!

This guy really is an idiot. A+ to Anderson is ridiculous. And C to Landry. Wow.

I don't like Pete Prisco, but I think he is right this time. I wanted Jammal Anderson over Gaines Adams. Jammal Anderson is a more complete defensive end, and is three years younger. I don't agree with him giving Landry a C grade, I think Landry is going to be a beast, but as far as the Jammal Anderson grade, I agree with it. I would rather have Jammal Anderson over a sixth year senior one trick pony with limited moves Gaines Adams anyday.

Tampa should have made a push for another player, either Thomas or Johnson. Adams fits the scheme though and you guys need a pass rush. I don't think he'll be a Dwight Freeney type pass rusher though and considering his questions against the run, that might not be worth it at 4. Still you can't say it was a reach. He was up there in the top 5-6 range on most boards.
