You've never heard of a player that got hurt the previous year and going on the the Pup/IR the next?

Dig a little deeper

Does Brad Culpepper ring a Bell

No... He was the guy that was benched during a big game so Major Applewhite could take over.

He was losing the 'big game' at the college level. Please show me where he won 'the big game' in the NFL.

What kind of statement are you trying to make?

That's why Applewhite is coaching college ball and Simms is an NFL QB?

You obvious must have some kind of hatred for Simms (or love for AppleWhite) ... to make yourself look so bad with such a poor reply.

You said Simms won the big game, I showed you otherwise. Any more questions?

Does the pathetic playoff loss vs. the Skins in 05 count as a "big game"?

Go look at the tapes.. you will see the gaming winning pass dropped in the end zone.

Do you consider the games leading up to playoffs important ? Do you remember the games that got them into the playoffs? or were they automatically given a spot at the beginning of the year?

I remember going 5-1 with Griese at the helm at the beginning of the season

And yeah, that drop was a travesty. So was the rest of the game, offensively. Simms was QB and got almost nothing done.

Yeah... if it was all Griese... where is he now?

This is too easy. Amateurs.

It was Griese, a #1 D, an actual run game, and sporadicly decent play from Simms.

Happy now? He almost looked like an NFL QB for a couple games. Sort of.

Irony: being called an amateur by someone who thinks Chris Simms should be a starting NFL QB.

Oh...ok ... I see now...

So where is Griese now?

He got his knee mangled, remember? Then we decided to start Simms over him and didn't resign him because of cap issues and his contract.

And last I checked, Griese is in Chicago, where half of their fans are screaming for him to start.

Now I get to ask a question: What do you think should be done with Simms?

So that means Gruden & co. made another mistake letting Griese go?

Sounds pretty familiar ? Making mistakes with QBs. Sounds like a song you heard over and over again.

Any chance Simms being let go, will be par for the course?

Sorry, I agree

Though I was a King fan and in 2001 backed off from it big time.

Thread was deleted and rightfully so. Maybe the point, though rather under the covers, was taken by those it was intended for

I guess the main difference is that Simms deserves to be let go. Any other nuggets of wisdom?

Actually, the Bucs tried to resign Griese but he took the money and ran in Chicago. Bad decision on Griese's part, if you ask me.

I'd rather have Griese than Simms, to be honest. Griese's record was 10-7. Simms' was 6-10. And both basically had the same WRs and O-line.

Once again... your genius impresses me. You must work for Gruden, because you think just like him. Together you and Gruden could get at least 5 wins.

Way to turn it into an anti-Gruden sentiment, since you can't support any of your points with logic or facts.

Just go to your fall back plan:

Do you feel Simms had enough time to prove he was better or worse than Griese? 1 half season, a virtual rookie versus a seasoned journeyman?

Sometimes you have to wait for talent to fully emerge.

He's been in this offense for 4 years. I think he's had more than enough time. In this offense, you need to be perfect with the short passes and slants, and Simms had major problems with this. We saw batted ball after batted ball, even on 5 step drops.

Well once again, then you feel Grad and McCown are better backup choices than Simms.... I am curious what they have done right that makes people feel that way.
