Mike alstott has been put on IR. I personally believe that mike,with his recent neck injury, is doing the right by being on I.R. Mike has to adjust to the fact that his playing days are over. as an emotional person as he is, it will take a full season on the sidelines for him to address and acknowledge that this is his time to retire.

I would enjoy seeing him WALK away from the game, instead of being carried off the field.

You are right, I think Mike knows his career is over. By going on IR he will get to enjoy being part of the team this season instead of abruptly leaving.
