AFC Championship the Super Bowl?
What does everyone think about the Eagles or Panthers? Do you think either team could beat the Colts or Patriots? I guess you could have asked the same question last year when the Bucs played the Raiders. Few thought the Bucs had a chance against the high-powered Raiders. The Colts remind me a lot of the Raiders of last year. They can score a lot of points, but their defense is suspect. I would prefer, out of the four teams, the Colts to win it all. The Patriots looks lke the most balanced team of all four and have won like 20 straight games
What do you all think? |

Colts will get it done. Manning will study the patriots defense inside and out and dungy will have a good plan for the Defense.

if teh colts offense can be slowed down,
they can be beaten. There defense is probably the worst of the 4 teams left. The offense carries that team plain and simple. Actually, i'm not sure why the defense is even there. They just keep the ball away from the colts offense. |

Both confrence champonships will be close (this could be the greatest post season ever)
But the Super bowl will be a no contest: AFC hands down

Anything is possible, but it just seems unevenly balanced in the AFC's favor right now, IMO if the Patriots win the AFC championship, they win the Super Bowl again, if the Colts win, it could possibly be a NFC team that wins, but that is given the scenario of high powered offense to decent defense. I think AFC has the best chance this year.

Both Conference Champ games are good matchups and winners are tough to call, objectively.
If the Eagles win the NFC, I'd rather see them face the Pats than Indy. Indy is a very bad matchup for the Eagles, although not as bad as it was last year. Indy's D isn't as bad as it looked last week. The Pats would still be an uphill battle, but I like our chances a little better. If the Panthers win the NFC, they might be better off against the Colts than the Pats. The Pats could shut down their offense and score enough to win. The Panthers D line has a better chance of getting to Manning than the Eagles' battered D line, and they've beaten them before. Either way, I hate to admit it, but the smart money is on an AFC SB champ. If Manning gets hot, nobody's stopping him. |

I've heard a lot of people saying that the AFC, whoever won it, would be unbeatable by the minor league NFC.
What a bunch of crap. That's why they play the games. At one point, I was looking at the regular season standings and found the AFC and NFC exactly tied for interconference games. Not sure if the season ended like that. Where did these people get this idea? Was it the Rams backing into victory as the Ravens slapped them up and down the field? Was it the fearsome KC defense? I don't get it. My two bits: the NFC is the tougher conference, with better balance between the teams (no San Diego to run up your stats), and better defense all around. Last season (2002) teams like Buffalo and Oakland were passing for 400 yards a game and people were saying the same thing - AFC had the "better" teams. One power ranking in 2002 listed JAX as the #2 team in the NFL. Get a grip. Indy's defense is suspect. Indy is suspect, ever since the lowly 7-9 Bucs made them look pathetic for 56 minutes this year. Patriots are legit - defense wins championships. |

Am I the only one who thinks Indy has benefited in the Playoffs by teams with no defense. Don't get me wrong Peyton Manning is impressive, but he has yet to play anyone in the playoffs that has tried to stop him. I'm not sure they'll make it past the Pats, but if they do and the Panthers make it past the Eagles (which I think is unlikely, but I'm hopeful) I think the Panters can give them a run for thier money.

I think that the game between the Titans and the Ravens was as good as a SB, then the Titans and Patriots was another great one. The Indy and Chiefs game was pretty good, but with crap defenses. The NFC games have been good as well, but I haven't gotten into them as much as the AFC games. I really thought the Packers would be in the bowl, so I guess anything can happen. I now believe it will be the Eagles vs the Colts because that is a better story for the league. Tony Dungy playing the hated Eagles, who he hasn't beaten in the playoffs, for the championship. Any other game is just boring.

Well I have to say the Pats better look out. Cause if Manning studdies 2 years worth of tape like he did on the Chiefs bye bye Brady.

It's one of those things where some teams match up better against certain teams.
I don't think the Panthers or Eagles can shut down the Colts offense enough to win. But. The Patriots can. But the Panthers and Eagles might have a shot against the Pats. So I think if you'rer a Panthers, Eagles, or Pats fan you root for a Patriots win. If you're a Colts fan you just root for a win, period. |
