Ten Things I Think I Think (To rip off Peter King of SI) Looking At That:

1. I think we're a shoe-in to either draft a quarterback or add one after June 1st. Brian Griese is a journeyman, Chris Simms is not what you'd call a dependable backup, and Akili Smith shouldn't be in the NFL.

2. I think we will add a veteran receiver - though hopefully not as veteran as Curtis Conway, who if I'm not mistaken has a Superbowl ring from his days with the Ditka Bears (that was a joke, before I get hit with those "Leeroy was wrong about something!" posts).

3. I think Todd Stuessie needs to go away. We don't need him one bit - not that we did when Gruden the great gave him a $4 mil bonus.

4. I think there will be some FIERCE competition on the D-line, since we have six guys good enough to start for most teams, and another 3 that would have to be considered potential laden (and a salary cap squeeze).

5. I think we need a veteran depth LB type, and/or a situational run stuffer.

6. I think we need to bring Corey Ivy back, and either draft someone in the first four rounds or sign another vet.

7. I think Todd France will be the last kicker standing.

8. I think we're in better shape - on paper - than I thought, but we desperately need to stay healthy and develop some of our younger guys.

9. I really think we need a day one runner, period.

10. I think I actually like our roster more than I thought I would. If everything goes wrong in the NFC South (The Saints bottom out under lame duck Haslett, the Cats miss Muhammed badly, Vick gets hurt) we could stick around f0r awhile.

Thanks for the post, Big Poppa. Good stuff.

I agree with your comment about the Qbs. Smith wont be a Buc next year and I have a feeling Gruden will draft one or sign Flutie or King and worry about QB depth next year. Im mixed about Conway, veteran leadership would be nice but I think we need to draft Williams in round 1. Stuessie needs to be cut, especially with this steroid rumor. I like the D-line aswell, and I hope the Bucs can get Justin Tuck in round 2. We do need some depth, leadership at LB. I agree about Ivy and also trying to get some draft help or FA help in that area too. As far as kicker its hard to say. Taylor came in and did a damn good job, France is doing ok in NFLE, and I really like Nugent from OSU. I couldnt agree more with number 8....thats exactly how I feel.

He is still classified as a Free Agent but he took the WR coaching job at Notre Dame. Odd thing is that I cant find anything about it online but I have heard it on the radio and on TV.

Part of me wishes he would stick around because he could really bring up clayton and potentially mike williams to be huge. But the other side of me just wishes he would clear up cap space. He just seems to be better on the side line rather than the field lately. He'll be good at ND though with Charlie.

I hope Charlie can make Notre Dame be contenders again. I loved it when Notre Dame and FSU were fighting for the #1 spot all during the late 80s, early 90s....Once Lou left Notre Dame went down fast and hard. Cmon Charlie!!

And it appears they will continue to do so....

Notre Dame, Ind. - The University of Notre Dame and NBC Sports announced today a new five-year agreement in which NBC will televise Irish home football games through 2010.

The extension provides NBC rights to Notre Dame home games from 2006 through 2010. Notre Dame will provide a minimum of six home games per season to NBC as part of the agreement.

19 Anderson, Scotty WR 6-2 200 11/24/79 4 Grambling Jonesboro, LA
11 Davis, Chris WR 6-2 200 10/09/81 1 Southern New Orleans, LA
12 McCoy, Derek WR 6-3 210 11/13/80 1 Colorado Thornton, CO
18 Youngblood, Kevin WR 6-5 215 11/22/80 1 Clemson Jacksonville, FL
