Can Warren Sapp read?

Either he can't read or he doesn't care about his fans. At least if you sent fan mail to Warren Sapp you may have the opportunity to buy it back!

Thats odd. I wonder what the true story behind that box is. Interesting that it says all the mail is from the same year.

I thought mail can only be opened by the person that it's addressed to or it's a federal offense...regardless of the address. That's crazy.

This is absolutely hilarious! All the "We love Sapp forever" fans get an instant picture of who this guy really is. Imagine, he won't even read letters from his fans.

Note! It was addressed and delivered to Sapp. He didn't open or read it. He is the one that put it up for sale/auction in the first place.

i am a warren sapp fan and out of all fairness to him.....1 the place never said that ALL the letters that were sent to sapp were never opened....just the ones in the box...2 if you were a professional athlete, especially with the fame of sapp (some say bad attitude, ignorant, great player etc....) you would not open all your mail either....WHY... well that is easy, you dont know what letter is negative and what is positive....that gets in your mind, no matter who it is from....i think that most of us wouldnt even bother looking or reading these letters....put yourself in his shoes.....he was a great player and a building stone here in tampa and always will be considered a buc in my book......

He left his best play here in Tampa and that's all I care about.

His game and attitude are both declining.

I can't believe the hate Warren is getting from his hometown crowd here. The guy meant so much, not only to our Pewter Pirates, but to the Tampa Bay community. It's truly ridiculous to hear such non-positive opinions about him.

We miss ya Warren! You're more than welcome to come back anytime #99!

Yeah, Sapp is a(n) {insert derogatory adjective of your choice}, but not reading fan mail is hardly unique on his part.

Who, in their right mind, would buy fan letters from Joe Shmoe?

What value can they possibly have?

Like Sapp is the only celebrity to ever not read his/her fan mail.

I'm still more interested in the fact that the letters are unopened and whether that's legal or not. I'd like to see how this plays out after they find out the legality of the situation. Yeah, that's the intriguing part for me. I like learning new stuff. Reading that a celebrity hasn't opened their fan mail isn't new.

It's a reflection of the influx of ex-Raiders coming to the Buc's, mostly retreads with little left in the tank. Hence my comment - NO MORE Raider retreads!

Hey, I read a Dave Barry article about a guy in England that had his poop in a can and called it art. Apparently it was worth many pounds.

To me, the real art is in convincing people to buy such crap (literally in this case).

My point is that if cared he could have a "secretary or personal assistant" open the mail for him and let him know if there was anything interesting to him. And if he really wanted to "score points" with the fans, he could have the same $10 dollar an hour secretary stuff an envelope with a picture and send it back to the fans. It might cost a few thousand dollars, but if I ever had a 30 plus million dollar contract(and completed it), I think I could afford it. That is if I really cared. He was a great football player, however.

I pretty sure every "STAR" NFL player opens and reads 100's of letters that are sent by fans!! Give me a break!

who would blame him? the way he was treated in his last year as a buc and him turning that joke of an organization around from a garbage bag to a superbowl champion, and what he gets is him being cut

at least he answers all the Raider fans' mail

Yeah, its pretty weak that he didnt read the letters, but then again, who among you would read every single one of 50 million letters sent by strangers? Let him who is without sin (or flaw) cast the first stone.

Just to clear this up, Warren Sapp was not CUT. He left via free agency after the 2003 season. Warren was not a cap casualty. He was a casualty of declining play and huge extensions given to McFarland and Rice by Rich McKay.

i was wrong then, but they still didnt even try to resign the guy who basically saved that organization and he was the true leader and he got stabbed in the back.

I'm lucky I check my mail before the mailman gets ticked off and leaves the little yellow note telling me to get it at the post office. Of course even then it ends up dropped in a box for filing if I ever decide to go through it.
