Was at the game last night.

It's been a while since my wife or I posted on this board.Since moving to Tn 4 yrs ago we just lost touch with posting. We are and always will be Bucs fans forever.

My wife and a few friends went to the game last night against the Titans
just wanted to fill everyone in on what I saw.

Traffic was horrible backed up for miles to the stadium. We left Crossville Tn at 4:30pm it's a 1 1/2 hour drive to Nashville and it took 2 hours and 50 minutes.

Parking was crazy we parked 3 miles from the stadium and spent $20.
Had a blast with the Titan fans on the walk over to the Stadium. Wife and I wore our Jersey's and we got booed and a couple of choice names thrown our way. All in fun though.

Tickets I got were in the nose bleed section.Section 326 Home field side way way up there.

Got ribbed big time walking to our seats. Two minutes into the game I was standing up yelling GO BUC'S didnt make a lot of friends

As for what I noticed:

1. Stadium is old and needs a major make over
2. The Titans fans for the most part were very friendly
3. Lots and lots of empty seats, Funny thing was when the announer said Our fans are the best it's another sold out home game.Laney and I looked around and asked what game he was watching.
4. Note to the beer guys. You can't sing or dance just sell the $7 beer ok?
5. I thought our O-Line did a good job making some openings for the Rb's
for the most part our rb's played well. Some didnt wait for the opening and ran to the outside for lost yardage.
6. No Cadillac (more on him later) Had Titan fans wanting to see him as well.
Thought Travis Henry looked good and J. Payton was awesome for the Titans
7.Loved the pass interference call we got from Clayton. Once again I didn't make friends when that call was made lol
8.I personally am more worried about our defense this year, our backs had a hard time cover the receivers they looked small lined up across them.
9. I think we would've got burned more on defense. I watched our safties get blown by at least 4 times.Thank God Volick didn't see the open receiver.

Ok now for the fun part with 10 minutes left in the game laney and I left our seats and walked down to the vistor side right where the bucs would leave.
We sat 4 rows back at the End Zone (awesome seats)

Talk about exciting remaining minutes the kick the Titans made to tie game and take it to overtime just made it over the crossbar.

When we kicked the winning FG in OT the 10-15 buc's fans that were in the Stadium screamed. All were in the corner where we were standing.

laney got some pics of the Bucs leaving the field here is what I noted.
Laney can't take pic's (note to myself) lol
No one stopped to sign Autographs.

Gurden didnt wave to the fans he kept walking

M. Clayton great guy gave his visor to the guy standing next to me.

Cadillac smiled at the fans and took his hat off and gave it to a young fan that waved to him. Class act.

Ok the best part.We followed the Buc's buses to the airport 6 of them and a moving truck, they were escorted there by 6 highway patrol cars and the cops would not let you get near them they blocked you from coming along side or passing.

We did get one chance to get up along side of 2 buses and we took our big Buc's flag out and waved it at them as they headed to the airport.

I would like to Thank the Titans fans for being nice

Sorry for long post, first game in a while we were just happy to see our BUC'S its been 4 yrs.

For some reason all I could think about after reading this is that he was drinking beer and then he was flying down the highway next to a bunch of cops trying to flag down the Bucs players bus?

Their stadium is not that old, must have been the same guys who built Ray Jay. Did they have any pink seats?

No pink seats lots of empty blue ones though. lol

Not sure how old that stadium is but it lacked eye appeal.
They did get the fireworks to explode after the 2nd TD.
The video Tron is small half the size of ours and its hard to read the score if your down at the other end of field.

as for speeding down the highway not a chance wife in the front seat telling me to slow down don't pass the cops.

I was only doing 35 mph

As far as Simms goes I think he had a few jitters,he did complete some nice passes but he made some bad reads as well.
My problem was when it was 3rd and 7 and he throws a 2 yard pass

last thing I need help with. Why is the mascot for the TITANS a raccoon?
lucky rat got knocked over by 10 cheerleaders and they sat on him.

As my husband asked....can someone PLEASE tell me what in the world a Titan is, and how it is connected with a raccoon??? The Titan mascot is a raccon, complete with the circles on his tail and around his eyes. I just don't get it........

We had a great time despite the long walk to and from the car, but I have to agree....the Titan fans are a great bunch of people. They had lots of respect for us and that made it worthwhile. Now we're looking forward to getting to Atlanta during regular season....glad to be back on the boards...and hope we can eventually get back to Florida with our Bucs...where we belong!!!

Laney, I don't know what's up with their mascot... but delete your sig line "Laney". The rules have changed here, only the long thin sig pics are allowed. I don't want you to get banned just when you get back to the boards...

I Imagine a racoon is more appealing to children than a greek mythogy giant.
Another observation I had watching the game is that Walter Peytons son (forget his name) is going to be a heck of a good RB in his own right.

Laney, I'm not the Guru by any means... but if you want a sig pig, go to the Graphics forum, make a post stating what you'd like in one... and watch the replies. The guys are great!

Here is the story on the Titans Mascot.
Taken from a web site.

T-Rac’s path to become the mascot for the Tennessee Titans has taken some interesting and crazy turns. His parents, who are from the Great Smokey Mountains, moved to Centennial park in Nashville when they heard the Titans were coming to town. T-Rac was born in the Parthenon and he grew up hunting ravens and jaguars along the Cumberland River while watching the Coliseum being built. T-Rac’s dream was to live and work in the Coliseum. His dream almost didn’t come true when he was run over by the Titans Bus while he was on his way to the first ever scrimmage at the Coliseum. The burly T-Rac escaped with only a broken claw and a smooshed fluffy tail. T-Rac and Titans owner Bud Adams became friends almost immediately. He was offered a job changing the light bulbs in the big red things above the Coliseum because T-Rac was the only one fearless and crazy enough to take the job. Eventually the Titans wanted a mascot to represent the team and state. The Raccoon, after all, is the official state animal of Tennessee and T-Rac’s goofy and energetic antics made him the perfect fit. When he was offered a three figure signing bonus he accepted, was delivered to the stadium with much fanfare, and the rest is history.

My question is why then do you see all these hillbillies with coon hats on walking around Wal-mart. Isn't it the state animal. Geesh have respect.
